The Arukah Process
What to expect in Counselling?
Counselling is a method of relating and responding to other people with the aim of providing them with opportunities to explore, to clarify and help them work towards living in a more satisfactory and practical way.
The role of the counsellor is to come along-side the client and gently point them in the right direction. Making a commitment to change, setting goals and strategies, taking-action steps, using counselling tools and teaching is part of the process involved.
The Arukah Process
My aim is to make your time and experience with me supportive, comforting, and informative. To guide your journey, together you will move through the below steps:
01
Meeting with myself to establish the therapeutic relationship is an important step to build trust for future conversations and a vital part of the counselling journey. Establishing connection and building that therapeutic partnership is vital after which there is clarifications of goals and informed consent obtained.
02
The second and subsequent sessions will begin introducing the framework for counselling. Here there is facilitating change in you the client and the therapeutic work.
03
Ending well is particularly important in the counselling room and involves more than us simply ending the counselling sessions. It is you taking the next steps on your path to ongoing healing and restoration.
